Многолетний опыт преподавания электротехнических дисциплин в Московском педагогическом государственном университете позволяет сделать следующие констатации:
1. Объем учебных часов, отводимых учебными планами на изучение электрических цепей и машин постепенно, но неуклонно снижается.
2. Уровень математической и естественно-научной подготовки абитуриентов и студентов столь же неуклонно снижается, особенно с начала последнего реформирования системы образования в РФ.
3. Значительная часть студентов, изучающих электротехнику, испытывает серьезные затруднения при выполнении лабораторных работ, прежде бывших доступными подавляющему большинству обучающихся.
4. Учебная дисциплина в вузе, понимаемая как обязательное посещение занятий и добросовестное выполнение студентами текущих заданий, оставляет желать лучшего.
